For Jamie's Sake, in collaboration with Department of Community Based Services, is kicking off their "All God's Children" campaign.
The goal is to find 452 families through 452 chruches in 452 days.
The Crisis:
In Kentucky there are 452 children that will not be returning to the birth families due to no fault of their own. These children have already had their parental rights terminated and are awaiting a forever family. Some of these children are part of a sibling group needing to be placed together. Some have special needs. Most are "older" (school age) children. They are all in need of a forever family.
Our challenge to the Christian Community:
To come together, across all denominations, to practice the religion that God himself calls pure and faultless, to care for orphans. (James 1:27) Specifically, we challenge the faith based community to become the number one place where children in need find loving forever families. We challenge each church to develop at least one new foster or adoptive family and volunteers to support them from within their congregation.
If each one of the 452 chruches developed one family, every child in Kentucky will have their forever family.
God gives us life through adoption! "...You have received aspirit of adoption. When we cry, "abba, Father!" it is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God." - Romans 8: 15-16
Ephesians 1:5 - "In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will."
God refers to all of us as his adopted children so we can feel secure in His approval of adoption.
